What is the difference between wheego SHARE and wheego RENT?

With wheego SHARE you do everything conviniently via the wheego APP. As soon as you have successfully registered, you can book and rent our wheego cars and vans around the clock, 365 days a year. You are completely independent of opening times and can easily open your booked wheego vehicle in the wheego app. Book - open - drive off - the entire process is completely digital and contactless. With wheego SHARE you can also pick up and reserve your dream vehicle in rental zones in your city and not just at the wheego rental stations.

If you use wheego RENT, you book your vehicle via our wheego-mobility.com website, by phone or directly in one of our wheego locations with our friendly wheego rental agents. Renting from wheego RENT is only possible within the opening times and at one of the wheego locations. You will receive the vehicle key at wheego RENT from our wheego rental agents, who will also hand over your wheego vehicle to you and explain it to you.

 

What is identical with wheego SHARE and wheego RENT?

Regardless of whether you use wheego SHARE or wheego RENT, you can rent our vehicles from 1 minute and up to 90 days. The available vehicle groups, prices, inclusive kilometers and optional extras are also identical. And the best: Both wheego SHARE and wheego RENT include refueling and charging! You use the wheego fuel and charging card, which is stored in every vehicle, and refuel without paying at one of our partner gas stations or partner charging stations in Germany. By the way, the network of our gas station partner covers more than 99% of all gas stations in Germany.

 

Which vehicle groups can I rent from wheego SHARE?

With wheego SHARE you can choose between 9 different vehicle groups and book the right vehicle for your needs:

e-Micro (fully electric Micro Cars), Economy (for example Fiat 500, Skoda Fabia or similar), compact (for example Hyundai Kona or similar), middle class (for example Kia Sportage or similar), station wagons (for example Hyundai i30 or similar), mini vans (Opel Combo, Toyota Proace or similar), small vans (Ford Transit Custom or similar), vans (for example Peugeot Boxer) or van tarpaulin (Opel Movano tarpaulin 3,5t or similar).

 

Does wheego SHARE also offer vans?

Yes, we also have many vans in our fleet for you.

For all small transport needs we recommend our "mini vans". With the Opel Combo or the Toyota Proace you can easily transport a washing machine, a dryer or a refrigerator.

When you want to transport something slightly bigger you can book the “small vans” group and get for example a Ford Transit Custom. In terms of size, this van is comparable to a Mercedes Benz Vito or a Volkswagen T6.

If you need more space, book the “van” group and you will get for example a Peugeot Boxer. This is comparable to a Mercedes Benz Sprinter or an Iveco Daily.

You you chose the "van tarpaulin" group (Opel Movano tarpaulin 3,5t or similar) that offers you space and extensive loading options.

 

How do I get the wheego SHARE app?

You can find our free wheego app in the Google Play Store for Android smartphones, but of course also in the Apple App Store. You can of course find the link for this conveniently on our wheego website.

 

After your registration, which is also free of charge, you can use the wheego SHARE app to book all cars and vans, change your bookings, unlock and lock the vehicle doors, conveniently view your journeys and report defects or damage.

 

Who can use wheego SHARE?

To be able to use wheego SHARE you must be at least 21 years old and no more than 75 years old and have a bank account.

 

How is my driver's license verified?

Your driver's license will be checked online in the wheego app during the registration process. To do this, you will be connected to our partner, who will carry out the verification on our behalf, and verify your driver's license via video.

 

For verification, we accept valid driver's licenses issued in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Region (EEA).

 

Driving licenses from a non-EU / EEA country are valid for 6 months from the first entry into Germany. In addition, the following documents must be made available: A certified translation or the international driving license, a passport, a registration certificate in Germany and proof of the date of entry into Germany (e.g. boarding pass, entry visa, registration certificate).

 

What is the contract period when I register for wheego SHARE?

There is no minimum contract period with wheego SHARE. If you no longer want to use wheego, you can give notice of four weeks to the end of the month. Since you only pay wheego SHARE after use, there are no costs for you, even if you may not need wheego SHARE for a longer period of time.

 

How can I pay at wheego SHARE?

With wheego SHARE you have the option to pay either by credit card (Visa Card, Master Card) or soon with PayPal and Apple Pay. Or you can have the bills conveniently debited from your account via SEPA direct debit. Billing takes place after each trip. With wheego SHARE there are no registration fees, running costs or the like, you only pay when you use wheego SHARE. Simply book your wheego SHARE car or van if you want to be mobile or need to transport something. Otherwise you don't pay anything, so it's no problem at all if you don't need wheego SHARE for a longer period of time.

 

How exactly is billing done with wheego SHARE?

Billing always takes place after you have completed your wheego SHARE rental using the means of payment you have deposited in your wheego SHARE account.

Please note that wheego reserves the amount of your wheego reservation as well as an additional deposit of 250€ on your means of payment when you complete your wheego reservation. This process which is only a reservation of the amount and not a debit takes place in the case of direct rentals after you have completed the booking at the beginning of your rental and in the case of advance reservations after you have completed your reservation.


 

 

 

What is included with wheego SHARE?

An inclusive KM (kilometer) package is already included in your wheego SHARE rental price. These are 10 inclusive KM per hour or 100 inclusive KM per day, no matter how long you drive.

Rentals of up to 119 minutes are billed to the minute plus the number of kilometers driven (no inclusive KM).

No matter how long you rent, with wheego the fuel costs are already included in your rental price. Compare for yourself - the additional kilometer prices at many traditional car rental companies are comparable to those of wheego SHARE - and that without the fuel that is included with wheego SHARE. We are sure that, regardless of whether you use your wheego vehicle for short or long distances or periods, we can offer you a fair and transparent price.

So you don't have to pay for refueling or charging yourself, wheego will take care of that for you. However, please note the minimum tank capacity or, in the case of our electric vehicles, the minimum charge level, which is required when returning the vehicle in order to avoid unnecessary fees.

Your wheego rental rate also includes a reduction of the damage excess. Depending on the vehicle, the deductible is € 800 (all groups of cars and micro cars), € 1,200 (mini vans and small vans) or € 1,500 (vans and vans tarpaulin), depending on the vehicle. You can reduce this deductible even further for a small fee - you choose this for every booking and can therefore always flexibly decide which coverage you prefer.

 

Your wheego SHARE offer also includes service, maintenance, vehicle taxes, insurance, GEZ, tires and the loss of value due to normal use of the vehicle. This also includes all naturally occurring signs of use such as tire and brake wear as well as any necessary workshop appointments for tire and oil changes. If you should be involved in an accident with your wheego car, we will of course take care of handling the damage with the insurance company.

 

How far in advance can I book a vehicle with wheego SHARE?

You can book a wheego vehicle a maximum of 30 days in advance.

 

How long can I rent a vehicle from wheego SHARE?

You can rent our vehicles from wheego SHARE from 1 minute and up to 90 days. If you need a vehicle for longer, ask us for an offer from the wheego car subscription - here we offer very attractive prices for various periods as an alternative to your own car or to a leasing vehicle.

 

How are wheego vehicles insured?

All wheego vehicles are fully comprehensively insured. The deductible in the event of a damage is up to € 800 per incident for e-Micro, economy, compact, station wagon and medium-sized vehicles, up to € 1,200 per claim for vehicles in the mini van and small van categories and up to € 1,500 per claim for vehicles in the van and van tarpaulin vehicle groups. If available, the maximum deductible can be reduced to € 300 (e-Micro, Economy, Compact, Kombi and Middle Class categories) or € 500 (Mini van, Small Van, Van and Van tarpaulin categories) by booking the relevant insurance option in your wheego SHARE App.

 

When can I open my wheego vehicle?

You can open and start your wheego SHARE vehicle at any time within the booking period you have selected, i.e. around the clock, seven days a week and 365 days a year from the reserved location or zone.

 

Where can I find my reserved wheego SHARE vehicle?

In your wheego app during the booking process you can see the exact location of your wheego SHARE vehicle on the map. Locations can be our wheego locations as well as clearly delimited, small zones in the urban area. As soon as you are at the vehicle, you can easily open it in the wheego app. You can find the vehicle key in the glove compartment and you can start your journey.

 

Where can I find the vehicle key?

You can easily open your booked wheego vehicle with the wheego app. The vehicle key is in the glove compartment. For vehicles that are equipped with a start-stop button, you no longer need a vehicle key - you can simply start the car with the button and lock it via the app at the end of its use.

 

What do I do if I want to cancel my booking?

You can change or cancel your booking free of charge via the wheego app up to 24 hours before the start of the booked rental period.

 

What do I have to pay particular attention to before starting the journey?

Please check your wheego vehicle for any damage, defects, missing parts (e.g. fuel card, charging cable) and contamination before using it. Should you discover any existing damage, please report this via the camera in the wheego app before starting your journey. Please also check whether the vehicle key (only for vehicles without a start / stop button) with the fuel and charging card is in the glove compartment or in the key holder.

 

What do I have to do if I want to park the wheego SHARE vehicle for a break?

If you park your wheego vehicle for a break during your rental period, use the key (vehicles without a start / stop button) or the app to lock it briefly. The rental then continues as normal and you can continue the journey at any time. If you want to finally end your journey at the defined wheego location, put the key back in the key holder in the glove compartment and lock the vehicle using the wheego app and end your rental in the app.

 

Where can I find the charging cable in my electric vehicle?

In our wheego electric vehicles you will find a charging cable for the socket connection and a charging cable for fast charging. At public charging points you can use the fuel and charging card which is stored in the glove compartment to charge the vehicle without paying for it yourself.

The power connection of your wheego electric vehicle is in the front on the engine hood. If you still have questions, you will find a precise and brief explanation of how charging works in the operating instructions for your vehicle.

 

At which charging stations can I charge wheego SHARE electric vehicles?

You can find the charging card next to the wheego vehicle key in the glove compartment. Using the wheego charging card means that you can charge the vehicle at more than 40,000 charging stations from the DKV network across Germany at our expense. The charging cable is located in the trunk of all wheego vehicles.

 

Refueling and charging included - how does it work?

If you need to fill up (or charge), use our wheego fuel and charging card, which is located in the glove compartment of your wheego vehicle. There you will also find all information about our petrol station and charging station partners.

The network of our petrol station partners comprises more than 99% of all petrol stations in Germany.

You will get the PIN-Code for the fuel and charging card when you make your booking in the app.

When returning the vehicle, you must make sure that the wheego vehicle is at least ¼ filled up or that the electric vehicle is at least 25% charged. If you return your wheego vehicle with a fuel level of less than ¼ (or in the case of electric vehicles with a charge level below 25%), wheego will charge you a penalty because we first have to fill up / charge the vehicle ourselves before the next wheego customer can use it .

 

What happens if I cause or discover damage?

Please check your wheego vehicle for any damage, defects, missing parts (e.g. fuel and charging card, charging cable) and contamination before using it. Should you discover any existing damage, please report this via the camera in the wheego APP before starting your journey. Please also check whether the vehicle key and the fuel and charging card are in the glove compartment or in the key holder.

 

If damage occurs during use, please inform us immediately via the wheego hotline and use the damage record in the wheego app to document this. In the event of an accident or damage, please always inform the police - regardless of whether third parties are involved or not. If the police refuse to document the accident, you must request written confirmation of this from the police and hand this over to wheego when you return the vehicle. This is the only way to ensure that the fully comprehensive insurance takes effect and that you are only liable within the scope of the agreed excess.

 

What do I do if I want to cancel or amend my booking?

Would you like to cancel your booked trip or shorten the rental period? Then you can cancel your booking via the wheego app. Cancellation is free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the rental period.

 

How can I extend my wheego SHARE booking?

Do you need your booked wheego vehicle longer than planned? Please do not book a new trip but try to extend your rental. You can do this conveniently using the wheego app. If the wheego vehicle is reserved by another user immediately after your booking time, you have to be back on time. An extension is then unfortunately not possible.

 

What happens if I have made a booking but don´t start the ride?

If you have booked a wheego vehicle and then do not start the ride, you will be charged the price that you confirmed in your booking. 

 

Can I make one-way trips with wheego SHARE?

No, since wheego SHARE is currently a location or zone-based car sharing offer, each vehicle must be returned to the starting point at the end of the journey. Otherwise an error message will appear in the wheego app upon return and you will not be able to complete the return.

Wheego is currently working on new offers that will also enable you to make one-way trips between cities, locations and / or zones in the future. So that you always stay up to date and do not miss any news, we recommend that you subscribe to the wheego newsletter.

 

Can I go abroad with my wheego SHARE vehicle?

Yes, you can also use your wheego SHARE vehicle outside of Germany. Please note that you are only allowed to enter the following countries with your wheego car or van: Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands , Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary.

 

For using the wheego vehicle outside of Germany, we will charge you a one-time fee of € 19 per rental, as we will have increased costs for the vehicle return transport and repair in the event of damage or a breakdown.

To do this, book the “Cross Border” option in the wheego app for your planned trip abroad before starting your journey. If you go abroad without having booked the “Cross Border” option in advance, your insurance cover will expire and you will be liable up to the full vehicle value in the event of a claim. In addition, we will charge you a penalty fee.

 

What should I do in the event of an accident or breakdown?

If you have an accident, be secure yourself first and mark the vehicle for the following traffic. Then please inform us immediately via our wheego hotline, which can be reached 24 hours a day on 0203 570 777 77. We will take care of the further measures. Your wheego team is also available to you by email in the event of a damage case or breakdown; you can reach us at service@wheego-mobility.com.

 

Can I smoke in the wheego car?

Smoking is not permitted in the wheego cars.

Should you still do so, we will have to invoice you for the costs for the special cleaning, removal of traces and the loss of use.

 

Can I transport my pet in my wheego car?

In principle, you can transport your pet in your wheego car. But you have to make sure that the animal does not leave any dirt, hair or scratch marks.

Because you will pay for the special cleaning and removal of traces yourself.

 

For safety reasons, we recommend always using a transport box and placing it in the trunk.

 

We would like to point out that animals must be adequately secured during transport and that you must provide suitable security by means of a transport box, belt or partition and use them when driving.

 

Do I have to fill up / charge the wheego SHARE vehicle before returning it?

When returning the vehicle, you must make sure that the wheego vehicle is at least ¼ filled up or, in the case of electric vehicles, at least 25% charged. Please note that you don't have to pay yourself for the fuel you fill up or the electricity you charge. You simply use the wheego fuel and charging card stored in the vehicle and fill up at one of our partner petrol stations or charge at the approved charging stations. If you hand in your wheego vehicle with a fuel level of less than ¼ or a charge level of less than 25%, wheego will charge you a penalty because we have to refuel the vehicle ourselves before the next customer can use it.

 

Does the vehicle have to be clean when it is returned?

At the end of the rental, please leave your wheego vehicle exactly as you would like to find it on your next trip. Please remove all dirt that you have caused during your rental and also remove all waste.

Should we assign major soiling or waste to your journey, then we will have to invoice you for the cleaning fees.

 

What do I have to pay attention to when ending the rental?

You initiate the termination of your rental process automatically when you park your wheego vehicle at the specified return location and when you have returned the key and the fuel and charging card in the holder provided and the windows and doors are locked. Of course, you can also end your rental via the wheego app.

As soon as the central locking of your wheego car or van is closed, the rental is actually over.

It is mandatory to ensure that the termination of your rental is fully completed before leaving the vehicle. Please note that the rental will continue if you leave the vehicle although your rental process has not ended.

 

I can't finish the rental. How do I get help?

If you cannot finish the rental process as desired, please contact the wheego service hotline immediately. You also have to stay at the vehicle until wheego has informed you about how to proceed.

Should there be a technical problem for which you are not responsible, then wheego will of course immediately reimburse you for any additional rental costs.

However, if you cannot end the rental because the fuel and charging card or the vehicle keys are not in the vehicle, or you have not closed the doors or windows, then your rental will continue.

 

What damage will be billed at the end of my rental?

Signs of use such as small scratches on door handles or in the interior are included in your wheego rental rate. Naturally occurring signs of use such as tire and brake wear are also included. At the end of the rental period, you will be charged for scratches that need to be painted, dents that need to be squeezed out or stone chips that need to be repaired. For each claim, you will be charged a maximum of the agreed deductible plus a damage processing fee.

 

Which hidden costs do I have to fear when returning the vehicle?

We want our wheego products to be fair and transparent for you. That is why it is very important for us that you know all the costs that may arise.

Your rental rate already includes 10 free KM per hour or 100 free KM per day. For every kilometer in addition to your inclusive-kilometer package, you pay the agreed cost of the additional kilometers. Booked minute rentals up to a rental length of 119 minutes do not contain any included kilometers, but are billed entirely according to minutes and kilometers driven.

 

In order to avoid that the next wheego customer needs to fill up / charge the vehicle directly at the beginning of the rental, it is necessary that you return your wheego SHARE vehicle with a fuel level or, in the case of electric vehicles, with a charge level of at least 25%.

Please note that you do not have to pay yourself for the fuel you fill up here or the electricity you charge. Just simply use the wheego fuel and charging card stored in each wheego vehicle and fill up at one of our partner petrol stations or charge at one of our partner charging stations.

If the fuel level / charge level is below 25%, we have to charge you an expense fee of € 19. If the vehicle tank is almost empty when you return it, i.e. below ⅛ fuel level, or the charge level is below 10%, the fee is € 49.

In the event of a damage, we will charge you the cost of the damage up to a maximum of the agreed deductible as well as a damage processing fee. The deductible is € 800 per claim for micro cars and cars, € 1,200 for mini vans and small vans or € 1,500 for vans and vans tarpaulin.

 

How does billing work at wheego SHARE?

You will receive an invoice after every wheego SHARE trip. The invoice amount will then be conveniently debited from your chosen payment method within the next few days.

Please note that wheego already reserves the amount of your wheego reservation plus a deposit of 250€ on the means of payment you have deposited when complating your wheego reservation.

 

How are wheego vehicles insured?

All wheego vehicles are fully comprehensively insured. What do I have to do if I cause or discover damage?

You can also rely on wheego in the event of damage. Our own damage management team is available to you around the clock, supports you and helps you to organize the next steps. You can also use the damage record in the wheego app to document a damage.

 

You can find the number of the damage management team hotline in the wheego app and also in the vehicle. In the event of an accident, please always call the police to properly clarify the question of guilt.

Depending on the case of damage (accident or guarantee case), a check will be carried out to determine whether or not a deductible is required from you. The amount of the deductible depends on the wheego vehicle model booked. This is € 800 per claim for micro cars and cars, € 1,200 for mini vans and small vans or € 1,500 for vans and vans tarpaulin.

 

What should I do in the event of an accident or breakdown?

What happens if I get a parking ticket or a speeding ticket?

If you have been driving too fast or receive a ticket for any other reason, we will receive an information and will forward the relevant data to the authorities. We will charge you a processing fee for this effort.

 

How do I proceed as a business customer if I want to use wheego SHARE?

If you only want to rent a single wheego SHARE vehicle, then register as normal using the wheego app. If you need several vehicles, please contact us by email at business@wheego-mobility.com.

For our commercial customers, regardless of whether they are sole proprietorships, craft businesses, medium-sized companies or large multi-national groups, we at wheego have developed many mobility solutions that can be tailored precisely to your needs. For our commercial customers with larger needs and an appropriate credit rating we also offer alternative payment options, such as payment on account.

 

Can wheego SHARE vehicles also be used as pool vehicles?

Yes, for our commercial and corporate customers we offer solutions that enable the wheego SHARE vehicles to be used also as pool vehicles. Our wheego service team will be happy to provide you with comprehensive information on this. Important: for all users of your company, when concluding a company contract for wheego SHARE, the requirements described in our terms and conditions with regard to the minimum age and duration of the possession of a driver's license apply. What tax advantages does a wheego SHARE electric vehicle offer?

The private use of e-company cars up to a gross list price of € 60,000 is taxed as a pecuniary benefit to promote electromobility with a lower percentage of only 0.25% of the gross list price. For plug-in hybrid vehicles that have a minimum range in electric mode of at least 40 km and a maximum gross list price of € 60,000, the taxation is reduced from normally 1% to only 0.5% of the gross list price.

Are there also wheego offers for business customers for long term rentals?

If you as a corporate customer need mobility for a longer period of time, we offer you as an alternative to wheego SHARE and wheego RENT with our wheego Subscription model (from a rental duration of 3 months) and with the Super-Flex long-term offers (long-term rentals starting from 28 days) suitable and cheap products.
